• Mining: iron ore is generally mined in open pits although there are underground mines, notably in Sweden and hina. • eneficiation: direct shipping ores, those with sufficiently high Fe content (at least 5558% Fe), require only crushing and screening to produce lump ore and sinter feed fines.

Jan 11, 2013· These materials must be in lumps of a certain size (4060 mm). Larger lumps prolong the process of reduction and fluxing. Smaller lumps block the fluegas passages and prevent a uniform descent of melting materials in the furnace. 2. IRON ORES: Ore is a metal bearing mineral. The most important varieties of iron ore are: Magnetite or black iron ore.
[To Buy] Sponge Iron Lumps Dear Sir, We require Sponge Iron Lumps as follows : Fe (t) 90 Fe(m) 80 Phosphorus % Max Carbon % Max FeO 14% Min Size 3 .. India
Sponge iron is a mixture of reduced metallic iron, unreduced iron oxide and the associated with gangue constituents of the original ore. It is also known as directly reduced iron {DRI}, metallized ore etc. much of the oxygen associated with the iron oxide is eliminated there by raising the content of metallic iron.
The ironsponge sweetening process is a batch process with the sponge being a hydrated iron oxide (Fe 2 O 3) supported on wood shavings The reaction between the sponge and H 2 S is 2 Fe 2 O 3 + 6 H 2 S 2 Fe 2 S 3 + 6 H 2 O The ferric oxide is present in a hydrated form The reaction does not proceed without the water of hydration The reaction ...

Sponge Iron. We are a leading supplier and exporter of high quality Sponge Iron in India. Our high and consistent quality sponge iron facilitates steel makers to maintain high quality and reduce dependency on scrap. Sponge Iron or DRI (Direct Reduced Iron) is relatively uniform in composition, and virtually free from tramp elements.
Sponge iron (sFe0) is a porous metal with the potential to be an electron donor for denitrification. This study aims to evaluate the feasibility of using sFe0as the substrate of wetland mesocosms....
Analysis of DRI can vary based on the source and composition of iron ore used for making DRI, the process of making DRI and the process control practiced at the time of making DRI. DRI is available in the composition ranges as given below. Total Fe – % to 94 %; Fe Metallic – 78 % to 89 %; Metallization – 83 % to 95 %; Carbon – % to 4 %
The final product, when observed under a microscope, resembles a honeycomb structure looking spongy in texture, hence the name sponge iron. High Quality. The quality of sponge iron is primarily ascertained by the percentage of metallization (removal of oxygen), which is the ratio of metallic iron to the total iron present in the product.

Lumps and fines are in the ratio of 50:50 and the highgrade lumpy ore constitutes less than 10% of the total reserves (Indian mineral year book, 2006). Demand of iron ores for steel making has increased significantly in last five years, resulting in a spurt in exploration and exploitation activities as well as the efforts for mineralogy and beneficiation studies ( Upadhyay Venkatesh, 2006 ).
It works as alloy of chromium iron and comprises between 50% and 70% chromium content and provides usage as important iron niobium alloy with niobium content of 6070%. Further, it is also used as main source for niobium alloying of HSLA steel.
Sponge iron is of two categories – Lumps(+3mm) and Fines(3mm) and both are stored in their respective bunkers. Dispatches are generally done directly from the bunkers in order to avoid reoxidation of sponge iron and ensuring quicker delivery. Quality. KSEPL produces superior consistent quality sponge iron for its valued customers.
So the corresponding demand of iron ore containing 62 64 % Fe would be around 490 Mt (excluding our export requirement). To cope up with increasing global and domestic market demand and to achieve the goals of National Steel Policy, our steel industry is in need of large quantity of iron ore.
Although there are some exceptions, high VM coals of 3238% VM are generally blended with low VM coals of 1520%. The VM in the final coal blend desired in the coke ovens is in the region of 21 to24%.
Most Chinese steel mills continued to consume more imported iron ore lumps in their blast furnaces over the September 1225 period, with the ratio of lumps in 64 domestic steelmakers' blast furnace mixes rising to % during the fortnight, the highest since January 23, Mysteel's latest bi .
